The specialised Electrogalvanizing facility at Salisbury in Brisbane enables Orrcon Steel to produce Australian made ALLGAL® zinc-coated steel across a wide range of sizes from1.6mm to 6.0mm. 3.2mm to 6.0mm sizes are a unique galvanized material – the only galvanized material using Australian sourced BlueScope feed ensuring the Australian Steel sector remains competitive.

30 YEARS PRODUCTION OF AUSTRALIAN TUBULAR STEEL AT SALISBURY ORRCON STEEL

Originally formed as Welded Tube Mills with less than 10 employees in 1989, now operating with more than 150 on site at Salisbury. We produced 10,000 tonnes in that first year – now achieving more than 150,000 tubular tonnes per annum. The site was originally the old Comm Engineering business. It’s one of the few sites in Brisbane that has a private train spur line – enabling direct coil delivery from Port Kembla via train to the production site. The amount of tube produced from start up to now, if put end to end would reach to the moon and back!
